This Week's Message
“Exhort to Endure”
Ryan Lynn 1 Thessalonians 3
Sermon notes for 10/25/26
1. Exhort One Another’s Faith Through Affliction | vv. 1–5 | “I Am With You”
2. Exhortation Comes Back Around | vv. 6–10 | “Hold On”
3. God Will Establish His Saints | vv. 11–13 | “Help Is on the Way”
Main Point: Mutual exhortation leads to mutual endurance.
DIGGING DEEPER
Read 1 Thessalonians 3:1–5. Why was Paul concerned about the Thessalonians' faith? How can suffering tempt us to stop trusting God?
Read 1 Thessalonians 3:6–10. How did the Thessalonians' faith and love encourage Paul? What does this teach us about the importance of enduring together?
What do all these passages teach us about God's role in our endurance? How should these truths change the way we face suffering and encourage one another? Have each person choose one of the following passages to read aloud: 1 Thessalonians 5:23–24, 2 Thessalonians 3:3, Philippians 1:6, Hebrews 12:2, 1 Corinthians 1:8–9, Jude 24–25, 1 Peter 5:10
TAKING IT HOME
Who has encouraged you to keep trusting God during a difficult season? How did they help you endure?
Paul prayed that their love would increase and abound. Where is God calling you to grow in love toward someone who is difficult to love?
What is one practical way our small group could become better at exhorting one another rather than simply spending time together?

Community Prayer
We join together in the spiritual practice of prayer. Here's what our church family is lifting up this week:
SUNDAY – Father, we thank you for the pastors you have placed over our church family. Thank you for calling our pastors to guide, teach, and pray for us with faithfulness and love. Help us to show our appreciation of them in meaningful ways.
MONDAY - Father, we pray today that you would strengthen and encourage David Droste and Standing Stone Ministry We thank you for the leadership he gives to the Southwestern Region and we pray for the pastors that are helped by this ministry. We also pray for the Impact India ministry, David’s faithful involvement in improving medical access for the unreached in India, and his opportunity to share the Gospel there.
TUESDAY - Father, we pray for our first responders, here in Yavapai County. Please place your hand of protection over our police and sheriff’s department. Keep our firefighters and EMT personnel safe from harm. Help the trauma staff in emergency rooms use wisdom as they treat the ill and injured. We pray for those injured or stranded by recent storms.
WEDNESDAY - Father, we worship you and bow down before you as our King. You are lovely, worthy, wonderful, exalted, and glorious. You are all of these things and yet you stepped into our world and took our sin to the cross so that we can spend our eternal life with you.
THURSDAY - Father, we thank you for the pastors you have placed over our church family. Thank you for calling our pastors to guide, teach, and pray for us with faithfulness and love. Help us to show our appreciation of them in meaningful ways.
FRIDAY - Father, Jesus, we surrender our lives to you. We love you and trust you and pray to be close to your presence every day. We willingly give up all dependence on worldly pleasures and turn to you to fill us with your Spirit and power.
SATURDAY - Father, on this Reformation Day, we thank you today for the great Protestant reformers who stood up for your truth. It was not always taught that salvation is by grace alone through faith alone so we are thankful for Martin Luther, John Calvin, Ulrich Zwingli, Philip Melanchthon, and all the others who helped us understand what your Word actually says.
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. (Eph. 2:8-9)
